| The
Development Division’s prime responsibility is the review, permitting
and inspection of all private development projects (non City initiated)
to insure compliance with all City standards, specifications and
requirements. This includes the public infrastructure (streets, water,
sewer and drainage), which the City will maintain, and private
improvements (fire lanes, parking, landscaping, etc.), which will be
maintained by the property owner. Other responsibilities of the
Division are: administering the City’s oversize reimbursements; review
and inspection of trench safety and erosion control plans; flood plain
mapping and management; permitting and inspection of the franchised
utilities; and processing of street light requests. | | --Mission Statement--
To facilitate the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and
services The
Division investigates traffic safety and mobility complaints, develops
long-range transportation system projects, collects and analyzes
traffic data, designs and operates traffic signals, fosters safe school
walking/bike routes, manages neighborhood traffic safety, fosters
effective public transit services, and seeks innovative transportation
project funding. These
things are accomplished using the latest technologies, best management
practices, and a highly trained professional staff to maintain a high
quality of life for Plano residents |
| The
Community Investment Program (CIP) Division is responsible for the
implementation of the water, sanitary sewer, streets and drainage
portion of the CIP (City initiated projects). The Division develops the
plan and manages the design and construction of the improvements. In
addition the Division manages the Stream Bank Stabilization program,
which involves erosion along waterways. | | The
Facilities Management Division is responsible for the design and
construction of all new City of Plano buildings and for the operations
and maintenance of all existing buildings. The Division administers the
Facilities Capital Improvement Projects and Capital Reserve Projects
programs. |
